12/26/2016: Tears
And we're back.
I'm more busy than I'd like to be during my break. Just took the week off, today is my first day back.
:(
Rogue One was the shit. Enjoyed it a lot! I really liked how they made each side to be morally grayer than they were initially portrayed. Although one side has Death Star, their motive is to be commanding and expansionist; this job is easier when you have a war deterrent the size of a moon.
Rebels are more like third world countries who hate big governments.
Cool.
I can't wait for Nier automata to come out. The big question for me is whether to get it for PC or for my new PS4, which I'm loving a bunch.

12/13/2016: Weeks
Christ, sorry for ignoring this site for so long.
Had finals coming up, and wanted to squeeze out that last bit of effort from my lifeless body.
But I'm back! Sort of, I have school in a few more weeks once again.
But of course, I always have time to post a lot of no effort blog posts with single images.
By the bizzle, Owlboy turned out to be okay. It tries a little hard too to be a game with surface level mechanics and than progressively deeper than allowed lore. It worked for a lot of other games and developed cult followings thereafter, we get it. It still feels forced, and it obviously did not work for the writer as the following for Owlboy has died down almost immediately after release. The game would have been fine if the story was more pronounced than initially presented. Collecting collectibles to find out more of the ~deep~ story is a meme.
Speaking of memes
I bought the meme station 4. I cannot wait for all those exclusives to start popping out in a year, Persona 5 in particular. Preordering the school bag edition foreal.
wow speaking of good cosplays
fuck these are perfect
okay bryan out

11/20/2016: Owlboy
This game is the shit.
No, really.
The characters are lovable, gameplay is a cross between a platformer and a twin stick.
The time spent on sprite work REALLY shows.
Holy fuck Stratos looks amazing. When the camera pans outwards and you see the lighting on the middle pedestal thing, I get goosebumps. Still playing it, so most likely will be writing about it next week.

the ride never ends
will hopefully be seeing Doctor Strange this coming weekend, will write on it.
It's been a hectic semester, but it's finally coming to a close.
Owlboy will see me through to the end.

10/14/2016: Late
On a serious note, anyone reading this should read a few short stories by Flannery O'Conner.
I'm falling in love with her stuff, especially "Good Country People."
Mostly reading these for my class, but I've come to like them all the same.

09/15/2016: Crazy Chilidog
I really do appreciate the dank memesters who still follow and read this blog.
I'm looking at you #12 Pornbot.
And anyone else, I deeply appreciate you.
The LootAnime box had a P3 manga in it. Everything else was pretty garbo.
So here it is, the contents of the box in all of it's splendor:
Pretty good, right?
Right now, I'm working on an English assignment. Let's hope it actually improves me writing.

09/02/2016: Hungry Eyes
Been quite a while. This marks the day of my first breather in my college semester, and I'm thankful for this process. It only took two weeks.
In my English class, I've been learning how to do an actual thorough analysis on literary works. I'm super glad about this, as this whole past year I've literally just been typing and talking straight from my ass.
Asides from this, I have a paper due within a month, and lots of work from class. It's been a bit of a hassle.
I went out and bought the Loot Anime crate for the month of August, I'll have pictures of the contents whenever it arrives.
Anywho, I'll try to watch a new movie by next week. I recommend watching Kubo of the Two Strings.

08/18/2016: Fortunate Sons
Hey there readers. It's that time of the week and also that time of the month to make a post on the 18th of August. Today is actually my brother's birthday, so in the off chance that he'll actually see this, happy birthday you big ol' stinker.
I've been reading these translated chapters of a book called Orokamonogatari. Oro, what I'm calling it from hence forth, is part of a series of books from the Monogatari line up. If you know me even slightly, you'd know that I have a big, chubby one over this series. My waifu hails from this anime, so please consider my feelings before you talk mad shit.
Oro follows none of the above. The story actually takes place after Sodachi Lost, which I won't go into detail with, just know that things have been sorta resolved between the MC and the heroine of the book, Sodachi Oikura, transfers to another school to begin the last month of her high school career.
The book reveals a lot of Sodachi's intentions and idiosyncrasies. It's cool seeing the other side of the coin, who was very ambiguous with her intentions before the light novel. She has a lot of quirks that make her completely awful, but that's part of the reason she's warming up to me. She's asocial and borderline psychotic, but she struggles through daily life trying to be a better person to prove someone wrong. It's very enjoyable, and I'm sure the rest of the chapters will follow suite.
I started to learn Japanese. I've taken the red pill, and now there is no going back. I suppose this is no surprise since I feed my nerdy antics with lots of Japanese weeb products and media, so I figure I might as well take it all the way.
Single and living in a single flat apartment in Japan, here I come.
Ohhh, also I'll be occasionally posting what I've learned on here. Maybe you'll appreciate it or some shit, I dunno.

08/07/2016: Battle Tendency
Besides the terrible movie and the good times, I've played through Layers of Fear.
Honestly, a very, very good time. I can't say a lot of bad things about this game, besides the length.
The atmosphere really sold me on this one; silence in one room, with nothing but your footsteps, mimicking a heartbeat, being heard over the sound of a woman's cries, or the times where the music kicks up bringing the tension along with it.
If you haven't played the game already, I would recommend to do so soon.
finish it
you deserve it
I've also checked out a documentary on steam called "Branching Paths." Honestly, I was hoping to see more on the industry with Visual Novels and the likes with a title like that, but you mostly get insiders on the stories of Japanese indie developers. Don't get me wrong, it was a very interesting as well, but I'm a huge weeb and like to learn up on the stuff like the struggle of developing visual novels. The stories were heart warming and interesting, and some were a bit sad. :( but really good watch anyways. Hope some of the movie money goes to the developers.
I've bought a few games on steam these past few weeks. Quite a few actually. I refunded Day of Infamy for them. Day of Infamy fucking blows.
Anywho, with the extra cash money I got back from doing so, I bought Grim Dawn.
Grim Dawn is Titan Quest with a grim european fantasy setting, but post apocalyptic. After the fall of civilizations.
To be totally frank, it looks like any other fantasy setting? So I'm not really sure what that's all about, besides giving a central plot point.
What I do love about the game is extra strong. Dual classing, great auto inventory management, among other features that you would want in a Diablo 2 clone. What's also included is called the Devotion Tree, which is a secondary skill tree which can be grown by purifying temples you find on the map. Besides encouraging exploration, I feel that it's a neat way to challenge a player with a wave of monsters to fight, or burn a resource you gain from killing a monster den. It's neato.
I got the game for about 15$, but I feel like I walked away with a game heavy with content. No buyer's remorse this time.
Not like the time my friend made me promise to buy 25$ worth of tickets to see Suicide Squad. Fuck that.

08/07/2016: Double Blog Posting Extravaganza!
This is to make up for the lack of one last week.
Have been very busy lately. Admittedly mostly social life stuff, which is different for me.
The other night, I went out with my older brother and my best friend from high school. It was an excellent night with excellent people and rad times.
Also checked out Suicide Squad.
My thoughts?
Meh. If it wasn't just a Will Smith movie, it probably would've been okay.
Not saying that Will Smith is bad, the man can turn even the cheesiest, shittiest lines into something digestible and believable.
However, one man cannot stop a ship from sinking.
In other words, it sucked. Go see it if you want to.

07/30/2016: No title
My last few posts have been admittedly lazy, with my decidedly lackadaisical approach to posting on this blog recently. I'm really lazy.
So with that in mind, I've decided to rectum this problem. A brand new post! For all you bots and non bots to view! Keep in mind, my brain has been a tad addled.
Even now, I can't recall the last week all too well. Tomorrow, I actually plan to get some German food with a.. great friend of mine. Admittedly, his personality is one of the reasons I'm slowly going insane. It has been nagging at me in the corner of my mind, the way he tries to sound intellectual by using vocabulary outside of his comprehension to sound like a pompous aristocrat poo head.
Like yours truly.
Please stop 'pulling' your movie opinions from Rotten Tomato. I do not care to hear what they say in 'your' voice. I've already pulled up 'your' opinion at least once or twice. Lmao GG
Speaking of, my thoughts have definitely been on a darker side. I mean that with the least amount of edge possible. That's about as possible as my negative thoughts taking a positive turn. Holy shit, I could not be edgier right now if I literally cut myself from my existential angst.
ANYWHO
I watched Lights Out.
It's definitely a runner for the 'Disappointment of the Year 2016', up there with 'Day of Infamy' and the new Independence Day movie.
I even dragged my pompous movie going from to see it. Was it worth? It was okay.
The hugest downfall of the movie were critic reviews. I read one out of curiosity, and I usually go into a movie blind. I wanted to change that just once, just to see if my opinion would be affected in any way afterwards. The experience was practically ruined for me. Never again.
What stood out the most when I read the review was the theme of the movie. Here, let me spoil it for you, too.
Depression. Not just any kind of depression, but chronic depression.
Critics, right? I honestly did not think too much of it. The critics I've read tend to pound on very good points, but other times they also drive ones so benign right into the ground. It happens, everyone will have a different perspective on things.
However, this particular critique on the movie nails the biggest problem on the head.
What bothered me the most about Lights Out was not the theme itself, but the fact that the movie kept reminding you that the theme was so. Blatant, contrived to the point of it being obnoxious.
"Ghost, why are you haunting that girl?"
"To make her feeeeeeeellllll baaadddd"
"Ghost, why did you hit her??"
"Because she was feeelllinnngn betterrrrr ooooOooOooOoo"
This happens every five minutes.
The ghost appeared after the death of both the husbands of the wife who is haunted, child as well. The ghost haunts the child turned adult many years into the future after confronting her mother after so many so years. The ghost haunts the girl at the asylum, making her feel bad at every turn by hurting her. The ghost tells the haunted woman her thoughts and how the woman is a terrible person.
And finally, the finale.
Mind you, the movie is so blatant on the theme thus. How will we solve this dilemma called chronic ghost depression?
Fucking kill yourself.
What an answer. To save the girl from her own shadows, she points the gun to her head and offs herself. WHAT A FUCKING ANSWER.
Movies. No doubt they will always be fictitious no matter how close to reality they seem. However, they will always contain a dose of human element to bring an audience that much closer, relating and sharing an experience that could almost be called real.
HOWEVER, DO NOT TELL A POSSIBLE AUDIENCE AFFLICTED WITH DEPRESSION TO KILL THEMSELVES.
WHAT A FUCKING JOKE

07/20/2016: Ad Revenue Conspiracy
There has been a spike in activity on some of my posts.
All of it coming from one source. Weird, right?
Take into account that no one actually reads blogs anymore and that no one actually cares.
Consider that.
Now take into account the weird amount of views I get at random. It's as if someone anticipated me opting for ad sense, and is accounting for that. The more hits my page gets, had I opted for that, the more money someone makes.
Interesting.
I'll be posting actually later this week, but with some actual content. Actually, possibly later today.

07/12/2016: It's time to mix drinks and change lives.
"Welcome to Valhalla" are the first words you hear when walking in. You see a bar. A few patrons scattered about in booths, and the bartenders are making banter with a few of the guests. The smell of dog piss lurks the air and jazz permeates the room.
You are now in the comfy world of VA-11 Hall-A.
Play as comfy
The game advertises itself as a cyberpunk bartending game. However, in terms of actual gameplay and mechanics, the 'game' part comes off as very light. The interactions come from the drinks you serve to your patrons. Mentioned patrons you should, as well as want, to get to know very soon in the next 14 hours of game to optimize the drinks you serve to them. This combination combined with great world building makes this my favorite game of 2016.
Read the comfy
As mentioned before, the game part is very light. The game is in pseudo visual novel format, and the decisions aren't as direct as a question with four answers. Instead, you treat your patrons. Treat them right, as in serve them the right drinks at the right time, and you'll be rewarded to entertaining dialogue and great banter. The world is built around what you read, and catching all the juicy bits of dialogue is worth the 2nd or 3rd play through. I mean this. The level of world building is top notch. I've never been this invested in a world I haven't even seen nor interacted with, yet I wish I was there to see the horde of shiba inu in business suits ordering drinks and making a mess of the bar. I'm not making that up, it happened. In the game. I'm way too invested in this. With everything going on around the bar, the experience becomes that much more personal with the patrons and yourself. I've grown fond of all the characters so far; except for the ginger shit head I hate him he sucks. The writing does a great job of making you care, much kudos to the writer once again. I've already tweeted my thanks to these guys, but I'll mention it here again. I am impressed. There was a time I was even genuinely worried about a character because of the events transpiring in game. Not knowing the whereabouts or even if you're going to see a certain character again was very stressful for me. Bravo.
Hear the comfy
The soundtrack is controlled through an in game jukebox, which I thought was very clever. It made sense within the context of the game, and allowed me to choose whatever tracks I wanted. The only problem with it is the 5 second buffer to load the preview for a song. I hated that, but I suppose it was needed somehow. Despite what some say, the music does change to the situation. This happens mostly outside of work whenever the mood changes. Lots of electro beats and whatnot, it is the future after all.
Buy the comfy
tl;dr
For 15$, you get the comfiest game to ever exist. If you aren't into a game because of it's anime aesthetic, then that sucks for you enjoy your stuffy uncomfortable hell.
If you like waifu pandering visual novels with great storytelling and a clever setting that is clearly worth more than 15$, I definitely recommend this. You won't regret reading this ever.
As of now, this is my favorite game of 2016.

06/27/2016: How to Brainwash Your Employees
Good day guys, gals, and mutants! I know you've been anticipating this 'how-to' for your business for what seems like a decade, but anticipate no longer! I will show you this quick and easy 5 step way to increasing productivity and overall mood within your retail store!
Step one is always the hardest step to take. This step loses many production seekers in fear of intimidation of losing their way! For this reason, I will simplify the process into a five part process!
Step One - Part 1
The first part to any step is always the hardest one to take. It's always better to take precaution here, as it is always easy to get side winded into doing another thing all together, and as far as I can tell, we don't want that. Do we?
Thought not.
If you look under your chair, you will find a package. Take out the package, and you will find what looks to be a key. This will be important later, you might want to bookmark this. Actually, just follow my Google+, there's no telling that I might not lose my way writing this simple 'how-to' guide. The barrel of this gun isn't getting any warmer! Haha! That was a joke, my employers would never hold a gun to my head! Haha! Not to force me to write a 'how-to' guide on how to increase production anyways! Haha! What a joke!
Here
are
some
resources.
I'm running out of time here actually, so I must wrap this up.
Step 4 - Part 93
Remember one of the most fundamental rules of mind control; there must be a pattern.
Just create a 9 song playlist for your retail store and put it on a loop! Simple as that! The more agonizing and popular, the better! Remember, we're not here for pleasure (as stated in Step 3 - Part 56), but rather productivity! Did joy ever raise your store to the next district level? Did your employee's happiness ever earn you your promotion? Did your good grades and people pleasing behavior ever stop your parents from splitting up, forcing you to grow up fatherless and blaming yourself for these actions, making no mistake that it was your fallacies in believing in a higher cause and your incorrigible faults that split your parents up, not not not because your parents were having arguments over money or that your parents had no chemistry at all and the marriage was doomed from the beginning, it was my fault IT WAS MY FAULT IM SORYR I WAS BAD IWISH I WAS BETTER I JUST WANT TO DIE AND RIP AND TEAR
Oh we're out time!
I hope this simple 5 Step process was of use to you and your store! Look out for my audiobook coming out soon on all popular media sites.
See you next week!
Here
are

06/21/2016: Re:Re:
marylin mansons new movie
follow the warrens as they banish mayrlin manson from squatting at a local british hovel.
Okay, out of the movie and in the real world, this shit happened. Not quo for quo the way the movie did, but it was based on it. Take that as you will.
I feel that the phrase 'based on' holds a bit more integrity then say 'authentic', but use either one and you still look like a moron.
The movie was fine. The attention it has been receiving is on par with the positive reaction of Jurassic World, another movie I felt deserved wayyyy too much limelight. However, looking back at the decade or so past horror movies, it's easier to look through that and relate it to the usual horror movie dribble we get every quarter of a year.
In fact, I would say that it's good.
Some parts of the movie, like the actual demon is genuinely spooky. In fact, I built an acute fear of the dark for a week because of this fucking movie. This to the point of looking over my shoulder while jogging in fear of some ghost nun with lots of make up spooks up behind me. I feel the movie did a very good job of keeping suspension high and the mystery shrouded, almost Alien-esque in the way they pulled it off. The very ending, everything comes together and you find out the involvement of all the set pieces.
The story however was subpar and actually really nonsensical and cheesy. The writing at times is just cliche and junky, the scenes were practically choreographed from years of horror movie influence, but I enjoyed it. The ending, remembering it now, had great build up although a bit abrupt, and was very intense. Bravo Wan.
Damn, watching the trailer now, and it is actually better than the movie.
Anywho, something else I've checked out is something I've been wanting to touch on for a while.
Old but gold. It's been about three years since it was released, but these thirty minutes were the best thirty minutes I've spent this year. No joke.
The short is about a young girl named Akko who enters a school for wizards, having been inspired by a wizard show from years ago. I realize the sentence I've just typed is a few words away from describing another franchise dealing with wizards, but I assure you although similar, Little Witch Academia has a charm of its own. Our Akko turns out to be the most inexperienced of the bunch, but she remains very earnest about her desire and beliefs even in the face of naysayers and her own rival.
The rest is coming of agey stuff, but it was still very fun. All the characters turn out to be likable especially Sucy, and the climax is very on par with Trigger's usual satisfying big bang endings. It's really nice to see a very good female lead in a shonen role.
So yeah its pretty good.
